The Fourteenth Session of the Standing Committee of the Sixth National People's Congress, having examined and considered the motion by the State Council and the Central Military Commission concerning the submission for approval to open the Nanjing Port to foreign ships, decides to approve the opening of the Nanjing Port at the Changjiang River to foreign ships. When it is necessary to open any other ports in the future along the Changjiang River between the Nanjing Port and the mouth of the Changjinag River to foreign ships, the State Council is hereby empowered to examine and approve it.
