In order to provide appropriate social treatment to recognized refugees and refugee applicants, the Commission recommended that language education, vocational education, and education on domestic laws and culture should be strengthened to assist settling refugee [2006] KRNHRC 7 (1 January 2006)

In order to provide appropriate social treatment to recognized refugees and refugee applicants, the Commission recommended that language education, vocational education, and education on domestic laws and culture should be strengthened to assist settling refugee

Furthermore, legal grounds for providing elementary and secondary
education for children of refugees should be in place. With respect to social treatment
of refugees, the following was recommended to the Minister of Health and Welfare:

In accordance with the National Basic Livelihood Security Act, recognized
refugees should be recognized as beneficiaries;

Recognized refugees should automatically qualify as recipients for national
pension and lump-sum refunds; and

Appropriate measures should be taken for recognized refugees to qualify as
recipients of medical benefits in accordance with the "Medical Benefits Act," and
to qualify as welfare support recipients in accordance with the Emergency Welfare
Assistance Act.
