An Act to repeal the Public Gambling Act, 1867 (Act III of 1867)

Preamble.-- Whereas it is expedient to repeal the Public Gambling Act 1867 (III of 1867);

It is hereby enacted as follows:-

1. Short title and commencement.-- (1) This Act shall be called the Public Gambling (Repeal) Act 1985.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

2. Repeal of Act III of 1867.-- The Public Gambling Act, 1867 (III of 1867) is hereby repealed.

^{^[1]}This Act was passed by the Punjab Assembly on 24th October 1985; assented to by the Governor of the Punjab on 7th November, 1985; and, was published in the Punjab Gazette (Extraordinary), dated 7th November, 1985, Pages 5228-A to 5228-B.
