An Ordinance to declare the expenditure relating to privy purses of Rulers of former States incorporated in the Province of ^[3][the Punjab] to be a charge on the Provincial Consolidated Fund

Preamble.-- WHEREAS it is expedient to declare the expenditure relating to privy purses of Rulers of former States incorporated in the Province of ^[4][the Punjab] to be a charge on the Provincial Consolidated Fund;

NOW, THEREFORE, in pursuance of the Martial Law Proclamation of 25th March, 1969, read with the Provisional Constitution Order, and in exercise of all powers enabling him in that behalf, the Governor of West Pakistan is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance:-

1. Short title and commencement.-- (1) This Ordinance may be called the ^[5][Punjab] Privy Purses (Charged Expenditure) Ordinance, 1969.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

2. Payment of privy purses of Rulers of former States.-- Any sum paid by the ^[6][Federal] Government as privy purses to the Ruler of a former State or his successor under any agreement for the time being in force between the ^[7][Federal] Government and such Ruler or his successor, shall, if such State has been incorporated into the Province of ^[8][the Punjab] be charged on the Provincial Consolidated Fund and be reimbursed to the ^[9][Federal] Government out of the said Fund, and any such sum reimbursed to the ^[10][Federal] Government before the coming into force of this Ordinance shall be deemed to have been so charged and paid.
