ANNEX 8A: SECTORAL ANNEX ON TELECOMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT

1. Each Party shall, at the APEC Telecommunications and Information Working Group

(“APEC TEL”), take steps to implement Phase I and Phase II of the APEC TEL Mutual

Recognition Arrangement for Conformity Assessment of Telecommunication Equipment

(“APEC TEL MRA”) with respect to the other Party, upon the readiness by Korea to comply with the APEC TEL MRA.

1. The provisions of Chapter 8 (Technical Barriers to Trade and Mutual Recognition)

do not apply to this Sectoral Annex.
