Re: Proceeding relating to Criminal Justice
Whereas it is expedient to prescribe a duty on an accused in a criminal case
to make fingerprints in accordance with an order
made by a criminal justice
officer so as to enhance efficiency in the prevention and suppression of illegal
acts, the Council
for Democratic Reform hereby announces as follows:
An accused in a criminal case has the duty to make fingerprints, handprints or footprints in accordance with an order made by a public prosecutor, prosecuting officer or inquiry official. Whoever violates such order is deemed to commit an offence relating to justice and shall be liable to imprisonment for a term of not exceeding six months or to a fine of not exceeding one thousand Baht, or to both.
This Announcement shall come into force as from the date of its publication in the Government Gazette.
