DIRECTIVE No. 29/2001/CT-BGDDT of July 30, 2001 on enhancing the teaching, training and application of information technology in the education service in the 2001-2005 period The Minister of Education and Training requests the managing authorities and the education and training establishments to deploy work which aims to raise the perception on the role of information technology and strive to reach the service’s specific targets, namely: - By 2005, at least 50,000 information technology experts at various degrees shall be additionally trained, of which 25,000 are highly-qualified information technology experts and professional programmers, fluent in English; - To well organize the teaching and learning of informatics at all educational levels, grades and disciplines with a view to popularizing informatics at schools; - To step up the application of information technology to education and training at all educational levels, grades and disciplines along the direction of using the information technology as the most effective tool to actively support the renewal of teaching and learning methods for all study subjects; - To elaborate and implement the project on development of computer network in service of education and training (Edunet), to expand the connection of Internet to the education and training establishments. The Directive also sets out key tasks, which are: - To expand the scope and raise the quality of training of human resources for information technology; - To enhance the fostering of information technology knowledge for pupils, students and officials of other services; - To build internal networks, connect to the Internet, build Edunet, to apply them to educational administration, thus contributing to raising the training quality, to deploy the form of correspondence education; - To step up informatics teaching and application of information technology in general education.- (Summary)
