DECISION No.241/1999/QD-TTg of December 30, 1999 on the establishment of An Giang University.

To establish An Giang University on the basis of An Giang Teachers’ Training College.

An Giang University is a training and research institution attached to the People’s Committee of An Giang province and subject to the State management within the functions and powers of the concerned ministries and central branches. The university has the legal person status, its own seal and bank accounts, and is headquartered in Long Xuyen town, An Giang province.

An Giang university is tasked to train cadres of university and lower degrees to meet the socio-economic development demand of An Giang province and the neighbor provinces, and undertake research into and application of technologies in service of socio-economic development of An Giang province and the neighbor provinces.- (Summary)
