Decision No.516-TTg of July 11, 1997 on the establishment of the Post and Telecommunications Technology Institute.

To establish the Post and Telecommunications Technology Institute under the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Corporation on the basis of re-arrangement of the Post Science and Technique Institute, the Post Economic Institute, the Post and Telecommunications Training Center I and the Post and Telecommunications Training Center II.

The Post and Telecommunications Technology Institute has the task of training scientific and technological cadres with university or post-graduate degrees, undertaking scientific and technological research and technology transfer in service of the development of the Post and Communications sector, uniformly managing the training-research program, the contingent of teachers, researchers and facilities and equipment of the faculties and research institutions in the Institute.-
