THE GOVERNMENT RESOLUTION No.02/2000/NQ-CP of January 31, 2000 on the Government’s January 2000 regular meeting On January 28, 2000, the Government held its January 2000 regular meeting to discuss and ressolve the following issues: - It heard the Minister of Planning and Investment presenting the drafts of "Government’s Decree guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Enterprises" and "Decree on business registration"; and the Minister-Director of the Government Office presenting the sum-up report on comments of the cabinet members on these two draft decrees. The Government assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment to assume the prime responsibility and coordinate with the concerned ministries and branches in finalizing these two draft decrees, then submitting them to the Prime Minister for consideration and promulgation in early February 2000; - It examined the report on the Bill on Insurance Business presented by the Minister of Finance. The Government assigned the Ministry of Finance to assume the prime responsibility and coordinate with the concerned ministries and branches in finalizing the Bill, then submitting it to the Prime Minister for decision on its further submission to the National Assembly Standing Committee. - It heard the Minister of Planning and Investment reporting the socio-economic situation in January 2000; the State Inspector General reporting the work of inspection and settlement of complaints and denunciations in the IVth quarter of 1999; and the Minister of Science, Technology and Environment reporting on the result of activities of dealing with Y2K from January 1st to 26, 2000.- (Summary)
