DIRECTIVE No. 06/1999/CT-TTg of January 28, 1999 on the organization of the 40th new year tree-planting festival "Eternal gratitude to uncle Ho" 1999 is the 40th year of the "Tet trong cay" (tree-planting lunar New Year festival) to show gratitude to uncle Ho. The Prime Minister instructs: The tree-planting New Year festival must be launched into a vigorous movement involving people of all strata and all organizations, agencies, enterprises, schools and armed forces units to actively take part in the planting, tending and protection of trees; and encourage the people of all strata and all economic sectors to receive land for tree planting, afforestation, tree protection and management, and forest protection.- (Summary)
