Decree No.56-CP of May 31, 1997 on the readjustment of administrative boundaries of Bach Thong commune and Bac Kan provincial town of Bac Kan province. To merge Huyen Tung, Duong Quang, Nong Thuong and Xuat Hoa communes and Minh Khai township of Bach Thong district into Bac Kan provincial town. To establish Nguyen Thi Minh Khai ward of Bac Kan provincial town on the basis of the whole land area of 110 hectares and a population of 2,100 of Minh Khai township.- (Summary)
