DECISION No. 78/2002/QD-BNN of August 28, 2002 promulgating technical norms for monitoring forest and forestry land changes in the ranger force Technical norms for monitoring forest and forestry land changes, issued together with this Decision, prescribe the basic contents, technical solutions, implementation organization and regime of reporting on forest and forestry land changes in the ranger force. The monitoring of forest and forestry land changes aims to annually grasp the acreage of existing forests and forestry land of various types; change of acreage of assorted forests and land planned for forestry production according to territories so as to help the elaboration of local forestry policies in service of forest protection and development. Results of monitoring forest and forestry land changes, announced every year, include: 1. Maps of present status: - At commune level: 1/25,000- or 1/10,000-scale maps; - At district level: 1/50,000-scale maps, and 1/25,000-scale maps for provincial capitals; - At provincial level: 1/100,000-scale maps; - At national level: 1/1,000.000-scale maps. 2. Table of assorted land and forest acreage: - Acreage of forests and forestry land according to forest type; - Acreage of forests and forestry land according to forest-utility; - Acreage of forests and forestry land according to managing owners; - Acreage of planted forests according to plant varieties and ages; - Forest and forestry land acreage changes for different reasons. The above-said forest and forestry land change database shall be archived on the specialized computer network system.- (Summary)
