Decision No.446-TTg of June 21, 1997 ratifying the program for survey, evaluation and monitoring of the development of the forest resource throughout the country during the 1996-2000 period.

The program for survey, evaluation and monitoring of the development of the forest resources throughout the country during the 1996-2000 period includes the following contents:

- Evaluating the forest resources: drawing up forest resource map, surveying the forest reserves and other characteristics; surveying and making specialized reports; processing information and setting up databank;

- Analyzing and evaluating changes in the forest resources;

- Improving the system for forest survey so as to evaluate and monitor the development of the forest resources;

- Summing up and reporting the program results.-
