To upgrade Chu Mom Ray Nature Conservation Zone into a national park belonging to the system of Vietnam’s special-use forests.

Objectives and tasks of Chu Mom Ray National Park are:

- To conserve the bio-diversity as well as rare and precious flora and fauna species, including 187 endangered species, to protect primitive vegetational cover and important habitats for animals and plants.

- To contribute to maintaining and protecting the ecological environment balance, supporting the forest protection, increasing the forest coverage in headwater protection areas for Ya Ly hydro-electric power plant as well as rivers, reservoirs and dams in the region, thus ensuring environmental security and eco-natural sustainable development in the locality.

- To build material and technical bases in service of training and scientific research as well as the conservation and development of natural resources of Northern Central Highlands.

- To participate in the international cooperation program on the Indochinese peninsula on natural resource conservation and environment at the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia border T-junction.

- To prepare material bases and other conditions for ecological tourist development, thus contributing to step by step stabilizing and improving local people’s life.

The People’s Committee of Kon Tum province shall directly manage Chu Mom Ray Natural Park.- (Summary)
