DECISION No. 102/2002/QD-TTg of July 30, 2002 upgrading Vu Quang Nature Conservation Zone into Vu Quang National Park, Ha Tinh province To upgrade Vu Quang Nature Conservation Zone into a national park belonging to the system of Vietnam’s special-use forests. Objectives and tasks of Vu Quang National Park are: - To conserve the model ecological system of Northern Truong Son forests, to preserve the typical bio-diversity of the natural forests in Southwestern area of Zone IV belonging to Truong Son mountain range contiguous to the Vietnam-Laos border. - To contribute to maintaining the ecological balance and expanding the forest coverage, thus ensuring environmental security and eco-natural sustainable development of Zone IV’s provinces, and at the same time bringing into play the values of the forest ecological system in service of scientific research, sightseeing and ecological tourism. The People’s Committee of Ha Tinh province shall directly manage Vu Quang National Park.- (Summary)
