Decree No.06-CP of January 21, 1997 of the Government on 1997 wage and allowance policy for officials and employees in the non-business and administrative sectors; retirees; people who retired due to poor health; armed forces units; commune and ward officials and a number of beneficiaries of social entitlement policies To raise the minimum wage from 120,000 VND/month to 144,000 VND/month for officials and employees in the non-business and administrative sectors; members of party and mass organizations; retirees; people who retired due to poor health; armed forces units; and health workers at communes and wards on Government’s payroll. To increase the monthly allowance to beneficiaries of social insurances by 20%. This Decree also includes provisions on the raising of allowances and subsidies for a number of people with meritorious services to the revolution as well as the monthly allowances for Government workers at wards and communes who have retired. This Decree takes effect from January 1st, 1997.- (Summary)
