2.3.2. Specific duties and powers of Judges

  • Main tasks and practical skills:

    • When a Judge is assigned to settle or adjudicate a criminal case, the judge has duties and powers as specified in Article 39 of the CrPC.
    • When a Judge is assigned to settle or adjudicate a civil case or matter, the Judge has duties and powers as specified in Article 41 of the CPC.
    • When a Judge is assigned to resolve or adjudicate an administrative case, the Judge has specific duties and powers that are the same as for civil cases, except for the mediation process. The judge should facilitate litigants to reach agreement on settlement of the case.
