Main tasks and practical skills:
- According to Item 2 of Article 18 of the 2002 Law on Organization of the People’s Courts, the structure of the Supreme People’s Court shall be composed of:
- The Judicial Council of the Supreme People’s Court;
- The Central Military Tribunal, Criminal Court, Civil Court, Economic Court, Labor Court, Administrative Court, Courts of Appeal of the Supreme People’s Court (located in Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City); under necessary circumstances, the National Assembly’ Standing Committee shall decide to establish other specialized tribunals at the request of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court;
- The assistance apparatus.
According to Decision No. 16/2003/TCCB dated 17 February 2003 of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court providing for the assistance apparatus of the Supreme People’s Court, which was passed by the National Assembly’s Standing Committee in Resolution No. 532/2003/NQ-UBTVQH11 dated 25 February 2003 on ratification of the assistance apparatus of the Supreme People’s Court, the assistance apparatus shall be composed of: the Secretariat; Inspectorate; Personnel Organization Department; Planning and Finance Department; Office; Institute of Judicial Sciences; People’s Court Magazine; Justice Newspaper; Judicial Training School for Judges; Assessors and Officers of the Judiciary.
