Main tasks and practical skills:
After opening the trial, the presiding Judge shall have the duty to:
- Check attendance of persons summoned to the trial and identity of the litigants and other persons participating in the proceedings.
- Disseminate rights and obligations of the litigants and other persons participating in the proceedings.
- Introduce full names of persons conducting the proceedings, examiner, interpreter (if any). Ask whether anyone wants to change persons conducting the proceedings or supervisor or interpreter. If yes, the Judge, together with other members of the Trial Panel, shall consider and decide in accordance with laws.
- Together with other members of the Trial Panel to consider and decide postponement of the trial when there is anyone absent, in accordance with laws.
- Ask and, together with other members of the Trial Panel, consider any application for alteration, addition or withdrawal of the appeal or protest, in accordance with laws.
- Ask and, together with other members of the Trial Panel, consider and decide additional provision of evidence or request for summoning more witnesses by the litigants or their legal representatives, Procurator, persons protecting legal rights and interests of the litigants.
